One of the many timesaving features that FCS Express offers is the ability for you to gate on a quadrant. This was a highly requested feature and is useful if you want to use your quadrants to set a negative (or positive) population and have your other plots only show cells in that population.

You can easily convert a quadrant to a gate with a click of a button, and then use the resulting gate in the same way as any other gate, for example in a gate formula. While creating the gate, you can choose whether or not to link it.

A linked gate is like a regular gate, but its borders change whenever you modify the quadrant that you originally created it from.

Histogram markers can also be converted to gates and linked!
