Why do my dialog screens have overlapping text?

Occasionally users may find certain dialog screens appear with overlapping text as in the image below. The problem occurs when your computer is set to use large fonts and can be remedied by changing the Windows display settings.

Instructions for changing the windows display settings for Windows 7 users.

To change the Windows display settings:
1. Right-click on your desktop, and select Screen Resolution
2. Select "Make text and other items larger or smaller"


3. Change the radio button to "Smaller - 100% (default)"

4. Press Apply and close the dialog.

 

Instructions for changing the windows display settings for Windows XP users.

1. Right-click on your desktop, and select Properties.

2. In the Display Properties dialog, select the tab Settings.

3. Press the button Advanced.

4. Under DPI Setting, select Normal size (96 DPI) in the list.

5. Press OK. You may see the dialog, warning that changing the font will require rebooting. If you see this dialog, press OK.

6. Windows will display another dialog, asking if you want to use the files that are already on your hard disk. Press Yes.

7. Press OK in the Display Properties dialog.

8. You may be prompted to restart your computer. If so, please restart.
