David Novo, President and Founder
David received his PhD in Biophysics from UCLA. His research concentrated on developing
novel optical and mathematical techniques for measurements and analysis of localized
fluorescent Calcium transients from a microdomain within a muscle cell. David also
built several confocal microscopes, as well as writing the data acquisition and
data analysis systems. Prior to commencing his PhD, David worked with Dr. Howard
Shapiro, one of the leaders in the field of flow cytometry, performing research
on membrane potential determination in bacteria using flow cytometry. During the
course of this research they built several flow cytometers custom made for bacterial
measurements. Two papers were published on the subject. David still maintains close
ties to the flow cytometry community through his appointment to the Data Standards
Committee of the International Society of Analytical Cytometry. This committee maintains
the flow cytometry data file standard and deals with issues standardizing all sorts
of flow cytometry related data storage and analysis issues. David frequently consults
on data analysis issues related to flow cytometry and collaborates in many projects
involving novel data analysis requirements.
Tanya Tolmachoff, Director of Sales and Marketing
Tanya is the newest member on the De Novo team, and brings
over 20 years of cytometry based experience with her. She learned flow cytometry at
Daniel Zimmerman, Systems Analyst
Daniel worked at IBM for four years as a developer and test leader in the VisualAge
for Java IDE project. He has extensive experience developing in Java and Delphi
throughout his career. He performed research at Simon Fraser University in computational
linguistics, employing machine learning techniques such as transformation-based
error-driven learning, and has several years experience designing and writing flow
cytometry data analysis software with De Novo Software. In addition, he has spent
time volunteering and training with Netcorps, a volunteer coalition dedicated to
enhancing technological infrastructure and skills throughout the developing world.
Vlad Kryvokobylsky, Systems Analyst
Vlad has over 9 years of experience in software development. He obtained his Masters
degree in Computer Science from Dnipropetrovsk State University in Ukraine and began
his career as a systems analyst for one of the largest financial institutions in
Ukraine (Privatbank). He was helped design Privatbank's credit card processing system
which issued the first credit cards in Ukraine.
Since coming to the United States he has worked as a software consultant on different projects mostly in the Financial, Telecomunication and Healthcare industries. He is specializes in the Microsoft Windows platform and has a wide range of experience developing different types of applications: Windows GUI applications, Client/Server Mult-tier systems, Web Applications. Among the products and technologies he used for software development are Delphi, C#, ASP.NET, COM+, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
Mike Dixon, Systems Analyst
Mike adds to the international flavour of De Novo Software, bringing an English accent
to the office whenever he wants to yell at someone and not be understood. He has studied
Computer Science for several years at CalTech and is an expert in the fields of
designing software plug-ins and user-friendly interfaces.
Juan Luis Almará, Scientific Programming Consultant
Juan holds a Master degree in Applied Informatics. He has many years of
experience in software development, working on genetic algorithms,
optimizations and computational geometry, and has published several
papers about data visualization and matrix processing. He is especially
skilled at building C++/Delphi/Kylix applications and components,
digital signal processing, communication protocols and device access.
