FCS Express has a comprehensive logging system that allows you to track every change made to any layout. Every time an action is performed in FCS Express, no matter what it is, this change is recorded. A brief description of the change is shown in the overview box at the top of the Layout History Viewer and a detailed description of the currently selected item is shown at the bottom.
This can be important for ensuring the integrity of your data analysis and for conforming with various governmental regulations such as 21 CFR Part 11.
You can see and print the history at any time, in the Layout History Viewer, by selecting Applications Button->Info->View Layout History.
Once the Layout History window is opened, you can see a list of all of the changes ever made to that layout. For example, in the image below, you can see that John Smith has changed the parameter of 2D plot 2 from the 1st to the 5th parameter.
Even the most detailed information is captured - for example, in the image below, the user named Sally Jones opened the same layout that John Smith had created. She then made several changes to the layout: she moved gates, opened a 2D plot, added a marker, and finally made formatting changes to the plot she had created. The details of the changes she made during the formatting include changing the text of the X-axis, removing ticks from the plot, chaning the label font, removing autoscaling from the X-axis, and changing the scaling from linear to log.
